From Kolkata
Where the kebabs come from
Kebab-e-Que is the Awadhi kebab kitchen at The Astor Kolkata, and it is part of the Deck 88 menu in Goa. So the seekh and the burra are cooked to a Kolkata recipe rather than a Goan one, which is not a common thing to find in North Goa. The rest of the menu runs along the Indian coastline, Malvani and Goan from the west, Bay of Bengal from the east, with Mediterranean plates alongside.

Breakfast is served daily with both buffet and a la carte options, until 11:30 AM.
Extended breakfast hours are one of the Astor Promises, the things included with every stay. Most hotels in Candolim close breakfast at 10:00 or 10:30, because a four-hour service compresses the changeover to lunch. Running it to 11:30 AM is the most-mentioned inclusion in guest feedback, so it stays.

From midday the menu moves to a mix of coastal comfort food, char-grilled kebabs, and global small plates. Goan and Udupi favourites alongside Asian bowls and European bites.

Astor Baking Company
A bakery on the property. Sourdough baked daily, handcrafted pastries, and coffee brewed rather than pushed through a button. It works for two different visits: a loaf and a coffee before the beach, or something sweet when the heat has gone out of the afternoon.
The sourdough is finite each day and goes when it goes, so a call ahead helps for a whole loaf. Take-away is the more common order from guests in the suites with a kitchenette. The property also runs an artisanal sourdough workshop and a cupcake session through the Astor Experience Team.

Plush Pool Bar
Poolside. The bar takes its cue from Goan tavern culture rather than from a beach club: handcrafted cocktails built on indigenous ingredients and premium Goan spirits, local brews, and regionally inspired small plates.
If you have never had feni made properly rather than dared into you, this is the place to try it. It closes at 8:00 PM, so it is a sundowner rather than a late night, and dinner at Deck 88 is a short walk across the property afterwards.

Evenings at The Astor
The Astor is a quiet property rather than a nightlife one, and that is deliberate. What the evening looks like here: sunset at the Plush Pool Bar until eight, dinner at Deck 88, and a lounge that is open around the clock subject to availability. Live music and karaoke evenings run as part of the experiences programme, and guests in Villa in the Sky can arrange private karaoke and a bespoke house soiree in the penthouse.
For a late night out, Candolim and the Calangute strip about 4 km away have the bars and clubs, and Baga about 6 km away has the rest.
